Christina Melton Crain, Esq. is the Founder and President/CEO of Unlocking DOORS®, a nationally-unique model based in Dallas, Texas that spearheads a paradigm shift in the delivery of reentry services to individuals with criminal backgrounds through a "community-based" cooperative/collaborative effort to address this historically complex problem. Crain is the former Chairman of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice – the oversight board for the incarceration, parole and probation of Texas adult felons; being the first and only woman to ever lead the nine-member board, with a Texas state prison named in her honor: the Christina Melton Crain Unit in Gatesville, Texas. Prior to forming Unlocking DOORS®, Crain practiced law, focusing on minor/juvenile representation and legislative issues.

There is no doubt that the success of a company is determined by those it employs; thereby making acquisition of the appropriate and necessary talent a key priority for any business. However, with the job market tightening, employers are experiencing more difficulty in recruiting and hiring qualified employees; requiring companies to become creative with their hiring practices.

My suggestion – hire former offenders!
