We had a chance to catch up with Jeanne Morris, the Vice President, Education at SHRM. Jeanne will be presenting a conference orientation on Thursday, September 9 at 11 a.m. PT.
Jeanne, tell us about your current role at SHRM and what your number one challenge is during COVID-19.
Human Resource executives are being asked to take the lead in facilitating the transition of significant portions of their workforce to a virtual environment. Currently, working from home has become a reality for a wide swath of employees and in many organizations literally overnight with no warning or time to train your managers or staff.

It is that time of year. The end-of-year holiday party. And the elephant in the room is who should be in charge.
I have been an advocate of leaving HR out of the equation even though many believe this is part of HR’s role.
September 26 is #HumanResourceProfessionalDay.
Every day, HR professionals positively impact the lives of employees in workplaces around the world and contribute to the business strategy that allows their organizations to compete, grow and thrive.

Thanksgiving. It means something different to each and everyone of us in the USA. Beginning in the early 1600s New England, this tradition of giving thanks and gathering family and friends with a feast after a season of farming has become America’s holiday regardless of your personal religion. We treat it as a secular holiday every year on the fourth Thursday of the month and everyone is welcome to participate!
Demographic changes in the workforce are having a profound impact on employers as the number of workers ages 55 and older continues to grow.
Missed the Annual conference this Year? Don’t fret, catch a local SHRM conference in a city near you!
For those who attended and those who wanted to (we hope you do next year!). Here is my quick recap of SHRM18.
First, what and who was Hot:
Adam Grant, the keynoter on Tuesday and guest host with Sheryl Sandberg on Wednesday. He rocked it with great insights and humbling commentary…and he earned a new fan with yours truly.
So here is a last stab at maximizing your 2018 SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition experience. Today’s post is about maximizing time at the exposition hall and after hours.
I’m wrapping up three days of great key note presentations, awesome breakout sessions, and a vendor exposition covering a broad offering of Talent software, products and services at the 2018 SHRM Talent Conference & Exposition.
