A recent study highlights the importance of considering global characteristics of leaders and members of multicultural teams and of using a selection and training process that focuses on a global rather than a cross-cultural perspective.
 
The findings are from a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation-funded report, Managing Multi-Cultural Teams: From a Cross-Cultural to a Global Perspective, released in July 2011.

So say the findings in a new publication called How’s Life. Published recently by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), it took a snapshot of what makes up people’s lives in 40 countries. The OECD encourages strategies to improve the social and economic well-being of people worldwide.

The Fair Labor Standards Act’s (FLSA) anomalous and vague requirements are forcing employers to impose precautionary workplace policies that are overly restrictive and out of step with modern work habits, according to a Nov. 3, 2011, report based on a survey conducted by the HR Policy Association.
