Hiring conditions are perhaps in their strongest stretch since the Great Recession ended six years ago. Job openings have reached a level not seen in nearly 15 years, and more workers are quitting their current positions in search of something better, thus creating churn and opportunities for other job seekers.

By most accounts, 2014 went down as a successful year for job creation. Problems do remain— millions are still out of work, others are underemployed and middle-class jobs are shrinking—but purely from a numbers standpoint, the labor market grew at a solid pace.
Wow, that was a long post title. Sorry. The post won't be that long at all, trust me.
All I want you to do is look at two charts and then draw your own conclusions about the significance, if any.
The first, courtesy of the world's largest professional network, LinkedIn, who published some data they call 'The 25 Hottest Skills That Got People Hired in 2014', (from an analysis of member skills, employment changes, and recruiter interest on LinkedIn).

In October, job creation rates will rise in the manufacturing and service sectors compared with a year ago, according to the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) Leading Indicators of National Employment (LINE) survey for October 2014.

Economists, academics and other speakers addressed the challenges facing the unemployed, underemployed and other people struggling to make a living. NABE is a nonprofit trade group based in Washington, D.C.
On October 1, SHRM @weknownext chatted with Mike Vandervort (@MikeVandervort) about "The Extinction of the Middle Class Job."
In case you missed it, here are all the great tweets from the chat:
“I’m on the board of directors of a temp staffing company with one billion dollars in revenues. I can see it happening across every sector of the economy. Everyone is getting fired. Everyone is toilet paper now.” – James Altucher
Are we witnessing the looming extinction of middle-class jobs?
I can’t help but feel for the ones who are struggling.
Labor Day is a bittersweet day for me this year. First, it happens to fall on my birthday. Nice of the government to declare my birthday a national holiday! Second, it is a day purposed to celebrate the American worker.
Yet because job seekers have my heart right now, I’m having a hard time celebrating.
