Why I’m Attending #SHRM18 and So Should You

I’m excited and honored to have been selected to be part of the 2018 SHRM Blogging Squad, and the opportunity to attend the Annual SHRM Conference & Expo in June which happens to be here in my sweet home town of Chicago!

While I did attend last year’s SHRM Talent Conference, this will be my first time attending the Annual conference.

With over 200 sessions and an incredible line up of speakers along with a great Expo, this is going to be one great conference!  It’s always challenging as an HR professional to squeeze in time throughout the year to continue education & stay up to date on trends.  Not only does the annual conference allow for the opportunity to learn and listen in a few days, but it opens the opportunity to connect and network with other HR professionals which you might not have had an opportunity to otherwise.

Expand Your World

That’s the appropriately chosen theme of this conference.  Being able to be amongst several thousand of our HR colleagues from across the globe, listening to stories, advice and topics which connect us in our common pursuit of improving the world around us thru development of our employees & organizations, is what makes this such a great opportunity and worthy conference to attend.

I want to thank SHRM (@SHRM) & Mary Kaylor (@SHRMKaylor) for the invitation to be part of the #SHRM2018Blogger squad and to attend the Annual Conference.  I’m also grateful & thankful for my employer Ipsos (@IpsosUS) which as a Global Provider of Market Research values employee curiosity & supports employee training; allowing me to participate in these events as I continue my professional development.

If you can’t attend this year’s annual conference; you still have the opportunity to learn!  Be sure to follow the SHRM Blog Squad on their social channels; the SHRM Blog where we’ll be sharing updates up to, during & after the conference, and join in on the conversation on social media following #SHRM18 #SHRM18Blogger
