Every Tuesday in November and December, the SHRM Foundation has shared transformational stories on the SHRM blog…
…stories from Burgandy, Jessica, Andrew, Gwyn, and Corinne shined a light on the impact of scholarships for students and HR professionals who have been able to learn and grow because of the direct support they received from the SHRM Foundation.
…stories of transformation from volunteer leaders at SHRM’s Volunteer Leaders Summit and from online friends during #GivingTuesday reminded us that we have all faced a moment of greatness. Each story inspired us.
…and last week Jeff Nally shared about his passion for HR and why he volunteers his time to support the SHRM Foundation.
In 2016, the SHRM Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary and began to prepare for our work in the next half century. Our world today is facing many challenges, and each of these challenges affects employees and the workplace.
It became clear that that there was an opportunity to shift the strategy of the SHRM Foundation to make an even stronger impact in the HR community. And if the SHRM Foundation is dedicated to shaping the future of HR, we must be an organization that stands with HR professionals and their workplace as they face and tackle the challenges facing our world.
The SHRM Foundation listened to donors and sponsors, scholarship winners and volunteer leaders, executives and new HR professionals, who shared their stories. We heard your voice and we transformed the purpose of the SHRM Foundation to champion workforce and workplace transformation and inspire HR professionals to make it happen.
The new SHRM Foundation vision is:
Empowered HR professionals building inclusive organizations where all workers thrive and organizations achieve success.
