For all our talk about work-life balance, we have done a poor job of it. Studies show (Google it, no time for citations and annotations here) that employees and employers are not getting better at this. In fact, recent studies are suggesting we’re getting worse! The “good news studies” say we haven’t changed!

Employees want to improve, but employers aren’t allowing it.
Employers want to help, but employees aren’t taking advantage of it.
