This SHRM19 interview is with Viventium, a SaaS-based HCM solution. Below is a quick Q&A with the company.
Who is Viventium!? Tell us everything, just as you would someone approaching your booth and asking you this question at SHRM ‘19 in Las Vegas. How have you differentiated yourself at the SHRM conference over the years?
Viventium is a SaaS-based human capital management solution that provides a remarkable user experience and design anyone can use with ease. What does that mean? We look forward to SHRM every year not to just exhibit, but to contribute by giving back to the local community. We attended our first SHRM in 2017 and donated to the New Orleans Women and Children's Shelter and Second Harvest Food Bank, in 2018 we donated to Open Heart Magic, and this year we are donating to The Smith Center of Performing Arts. It has become part of our annual SHRM experience and we enjoy meeting different charities each year and hearing about how they are making a difference in their community.
What are the biggest challenges companies face when integrating new software like yours? How do they overcome those challenges?
We understand that implementing a new HCM solution can make people nervous. After all, transferring data from one system to another takes time and diligence. That is why we make sure to lay out our implementation process from the beginning, train on our products, and verify all data is correct before a client can begin enjoying all of the features they bought during the evaluation process. Then the fun begins – clients have powerful software that can make the difficult stuff easy, and a great service team to support them with any and all questions!
What do you wish more HR professionals and recruiters knew about cloud-based HCM software?
Most HCM software is cloud-based today. What HR professionals should understand about HCM, in general, is this…just because you have a solution, doesn’t mean it’s the best one for you. We understand the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” motto, but oftentimes people don’t realize that things are broken until something goes wrong. When HR professionals spend more time doing manual work and playing catch up instead of focusing on their people, it’s time to rethink how things are done. The only way to know is by evaluating new providers and being open to hearing where processes can be improved upon.
Do you think that ease of payroll and HR processes play a role in employee retention?
Absolutely! We can help you with one of the most important (if not the most important) part of your business, paying your people. Payroll and HR are not reasons why employees join companies. Employees expect from day one to be paid, have access to their data, have PTO tracked correctly, know what their role entails, know how they are measured, what rules to follow, and so on. When those functions run properly, employees won’t be leaving for silly reasons. Managers can spend more time with their employees and help them develop and grow which makes everyone more engaged.
