More than 10 million Americans are unemployed. But 4 million jobs languish with no one to fill them. Part of the reason is the skills gap – the divide between the skills job seekers have and the skills employers need.

The skills gap will be the focus of a speech by SHRM President and CEO Hank Jackson on Tuesday, February 11 at 12:00 p.m. ET. at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA. The speech, followed by a dynamic panel of business leaders, HR professionals, and the president of Bridgewater College, is being hosted by Shenandoah Valley SHRM and the SHRM student chapters at Bridgewater College and James Madison University.
According to Jackson, the skills gap is a "defining business challenge of our time" and HR professionals can – and must – play a leadership role in solving it.
