I would like to take a minute to introduce myself to everyone following the enthusiastic group we call the #SHRM18 Blog Squad. My name is John Jorgensen and those of you who know me know how I feel about having my picture taken, please accept this introduction in the place of a video. I hold a unique position in this diverse group in that I hold two volunteer positions at SHRM Annual Events.
I have been an official and unofficial member of the Blog Squads off and on since 2011 I believe, and I am also a volunteer coordinator for the SHRMStore.
Because of this unusual combination, I will be writing about speakers who are authors and authors who are speakers whose books you will find in the Store and who in most cases will be signing their books in the Store. My emphasis will be on concurrent speakers as well as speakers who will be doing Mega and preconference sessions. Our conversations will cover their books, their session topics and a few other odds and ends about the conference and Chicago.
As far as my Store responsibilities, I will be helping to direct the wonderful volunteers who will be manning the Store during the Conference. I will also be tweeting from time to time about what is going on as far as activities in the store such as demonstrations and book signings. BTW I am a Chicago area native, so if you need the real deal on the town, let me know.
