PERKS: Empowering Employees to Choose the Benefits that are Right for Them 

PERKS is a 2022 WorkplaceTech Accelerator (WTA) cohort member. The WTA is a premier program for all things future of work and is powered by SHRMLabs (SHRM’s innovation lab and venture capital arm). Our inaugural 8-week virtual accelerator program is currently underway and is designed to scale up early-stage, growth-driven startups dedicated to elevating HR and solving today’s most pressing workplace challenges. We asked each of the six cohort members to share their story in their own words. 

In the wake of the Great Resignation, society is entering a decade of employee empowerment. PERKS is ushering in the new era of Employee Support & Culture Building. We are uniquely positioned to revolutionize how organizations around the globe provide unique people support to their teams while granting leadership and HR access to strong culture-building tools. This will shape how all organizations improve their People Experience, whether that be employees, contractors, gig workers, or one day students trying to navigate through college life. 

As the first global employee support marketplace and operating system made for distributed teams, our core solution is a marketplace experience for support and culture building. It is available in over 80 countries with more than 2,000 vendor partners in our worldwide network. We are the first system to offer truly global support.  

One-size-fits-all culture and support programs incur significant costs but reap low engagement from employees. Organizations find that their cost-to-engagement ratio is substantially off. 

The PERKS platform allows organizations to define programs and budgets, while empowering employees to choose what helps them thrive—both at work and in life. As a result, teams see higher engagement and an improved cost-to-engagement ratio. 

In addition, PERKS’ proprietary culture tools help HR and leadership teams understand their culture & support, engage more holistically with their people, as well as micro-reward people based on the actual work they are completing on a day-to-day basis.  

We integrate with a vast array of platforms and solutions. PERKS has APIs to leading payroll and HRIS platforms to seamlessly sync employee data. Our Culture Index corroborates employee engagement data from platforms like Cultureamp and Lattice. Additionally, our Rewards integrations were built to integrate with the most common productivity tools: Jira, Zendesk, Salesforce, Trello, and Hubspot for example. This helps companies better track performance and productivity while micro-rewarding team members organically. 

We believe that PERKS helps teams build a positive company culture, empowering people to thrive personally and professionally. Our solutions create relief for HR admins so they can focus on important initiatives, such as employee retention and talent acquisition strategies. We also assist each organization in measuring their culture and support with a kit of predefined OKRs and KPIs that help them track their initiatives on PERKS. The resulting Culture Report Card surfaces recommended strategies to improve the culture and support over time. 

We are the first platform to combine business intelligence with an actionable system to systematically improve culture and support within an organization. We believe this is the only way to properly improve employee retention and talent acquisition long-term.
