Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski to Open #SHRM15

There are not enough words to convey my excitement to share with you that Coach K is the opening keynote at SHRM’s 2015 Annual Conference. There is not enough room in this blog to list all of his accomplishments but here are a few to illustrate what an amazing coach, leader, mentor and motivator Coach K is:

  • He holds the title of Winningest Coach in NCAA Division in Men's Basketball History
  • He is the first Division I men’s basketball coach to reach over 1,000 wins in 2015
  • He is one of only two coaches in NCAA history to earn five or more NCAA titles
  • He coached the United States men's national basketball team and led them to two gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics

His keynote, “Victory Through Teamwork and Leadership”, is the perfect message not only for our attendees but also an ideal start to the conference. There are so many parallels to what he will share and the challenges that HR professionals face. Building effective teams and getting individuals to perform to the best of their ability is something everyone can relate to which is exactly what Coach K is going to talk about. Our attendees have the opportunity to hear about the keys to his success — motivational techniques, leadership skills, powerful teamwork strategies, steps for building confidence, the vital impact of trust and communication — that can be applied to every level of personal and professional endeavor.
