A #SHRM19 Interview with Info Cubic

This is a 2019 SHRM Annual Conference and Exposition (#SHRM19) interview is with Info Cubic, a background check provider. Below is a quick Q&A with the Executive Vice President Dan Mayer.

Who is Info Cubic!? Tell us everything, just as you would someone approaching your booth and asking you this question at #SHRM19 in Las Vegas.

Since 2002, Info Cubic has been providing a one-stop shop for all your employment screening needs including drug screening, international screening and occupational health screening. While everyone background check company says they’re the best, most accurate and fastest, because we are ISO 9001:2015 certified and NAPBS Accredited we can prove it!

Let us in on the magic. What’s the hiring process like at Info Cubic? How do you utilize your own tech and processes to ensure you’re hiring the best talent?

We’ve made the hiring process as simple and streamlined as possible for both the applicant and our HR team doing the hiring. We have partnered with BambooHR to post job openings, which allows us to then quickly score each candidate and schedule interviews. Once we’ve interviewed the candidate and made a job offer we use our mobile-friendly applicant portal to initiate their background check. The candidate is able to conveniently provide all the information we need and electronically sign their disclosure and authorization forms via their smartphone or tablet. The entire process is paperless, streamlined and very efficient.

What makes Info Cubic unique among other background check providers?

Info Cubic is proud to be ISO 9001:2015 certified, NAPBS Accredited, and multi-year winners of HRO Today’s Baker’s Dozen. Out of 900 plus competitors in the background check industry there are only four other companies that can claim these same three accolades….however, we are the only ones with Client Service Ninjas! What are the biggest challenges companies face when screening potential employees? How do they overcome those challenges?

Today’s job market is so competitive that landing top talent is very challenging. Companies often lose top talent to their competitors by having a cumbersome screening process or waiting too long for background check reports to be returned. Our mobile-friendly applicant portal allows candidates to quickly initiate the screening process via their smartphone or tablet without having to print or scan any documents. Info Cubic’s industry-leading turnaround times allow our clients to begin the onboarding process for new hires while their competitors are still waiting around for their background checks to be completed.

What do you wish more HR professionals and recruiters knew about employment screening?

Employment screening should be the easiest part of an HR professional’s job. They should not have to worry about doing a lot of data-entry or printing, scanning and uploading documents when initiating background checks. Furthermore, they should not have to act as the middleman between the candidate and their background check company. With Info Cubic’s applicant portal feature their is very limited data-entry and the entire process is paperless and mobile-friendly for the applicants. When using our applicant connect service our Client Service Ninjas will reach out to candidates directly via text or email if we ever need any additional info. This keeps HR folks out of the screening process entirely and helps to speed up turnaround times. Once they initiate the applicant portal invite they can simply sit back and wait for the report to return a day or two later.
