The ‘candidate experience’ has become a buzzword these days. “It’s so crucial to have a positive candidate experience,” and, “What kind of candidate experience do we want our company to have?” These are the ideas swirling around in the already jam-packed brains of human resources professionals and hiring managers. So, how do we define this?
Courtney Hendricks is currently serving as an HR department of one at Extension, a staffing firm in Milwaukee, WI. With over three years of HR experience in the manufacturing and engineering sectors, Hendricks had worked with many staffing firms in the past and quickly became familiar with the challenges and opportunities of the industry. Her portfolio is comprised of multiple HR functions—managing full-cycle recruitment efforts, employee relations, benefit and payroll-related issues, and process development.
In her role, Hendricks manages all human resource responsibilities for the company, including internal recruitment, policy and procedure implementation, employee relations, strategic planning, benefits administration, and performance management. Prior to Extension, she worked as an HR intern at Hayes Performance Systems, a manufacturing company in Mequon. After graduating from college, she was promoted to HR Coordinator at Hayes, taking on a much more active role in union employee relations and tactical development as the company underwent an overhaul in executive leadership and strategy deployment in 2014-15.
Originally from Minnesota, she moved to Milwaukee for college and graduated with a BA in Communication. She serves as co-chair for Metro Milwaukee SHRM on the Young Professionals/Membership committee, and tags herself a fitness and fashion enthusiast, social media junkie, and lover of wine, good coffee and good friends.
