A year ago, I would have said no to writing this. But last year, I was inspired to talk about my mental health with a stranger after they told me about their struggles, and it was the most liberating life-changing experience.
Stacey Matusko graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Spanish Language, Business, and Cultures in 2009. Since graduating, she has worked in a mix of marketing and digital communication roles for organizations such as The Washington Nationals, The Carnegie Institution for Science, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Biotechnology Innovation Organization, and The Society for Human Resource Management. Stacey is passionate about crafting marketing content strategies that actively facilitate community engagement, and in her free time, she enjoys the art of cooking, the efficiency of life hacks, and serving as a mental health advocate by lending her voice and experiences to bring awareness and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health conditions.
